Present intentions are lowest in the 'intention stack'. Above that are more future-looking intentions, like going to the gym 3 times or writing for 90 minutes per day

All these are intentions - just at different levels.

When a goal is aligned and connected to your daily actions and your strongest values, you fill out the full picture of a goal. progress becomes both remarkably tangible and deeply meaningful"

Most of us set goals in the middle layers but they are not connected to either values or daily intentions. No roots to keep things sustainable

  1. Set an annual theme
  2. Set objective (priorities) = what do I want to achieve. Not tangible. answers the Why. Set 3 of those.
  3. Key results are like measurable Goals. Time scoped. How will I know I got there
  4. Strategies (how) = plans.
  5. Clear specification for when, where and how. Actions I can follow

Tips

  1. limit to 3 objectives
  2. Goals should be loosely. Can change. Used for the sense of directions
  3. Flow from top to bottom
  4. Stuck in the middle? flow up and down.
